Hi Let Us Vote Community.
Cathy Stewart here, your project manager. I am writing today because I am ***angry*** about an outrageous article I came across from Gradients Metrics, a “market research” firm.
It is the OLD, TIRED mantra that we independents are really LEANERS.
The article was titled Making Sense of “Independent Voters” and was published in January.
Here is their premise:
“Ever heard someone claim they vote for the person, not the party? Do you have a friend, family member, or co-worker who claims to be an Independent voter? Odds are these people are either lying to you or themselves.”
Here is their concluding sentence:
Lesson of the story? When your aunt says “I’m not a Democrat or Republican – I’m Independent,” you should relentlessly harass her until she admits which direction she leans. It’s how we heal, people.
This is vicious! We should ask our aunts, friends, and 50% of the voters in the United States why we are independent!
Why is it these pollsters and market researchers never ask us that question. Clearly they want to define us out of existence!
When I told a fellow independent, Danny Battista about this, he was angry too! His counter argument:
Independents aren’t Leaners,
Independents are Leaders!
I agree! Do you?
